With law firm experience at both a large international firm and small litigation boutique, Sara understands the demands placed on today’s attorneys.  Sara uses this in depth understanding to help her candidates find the positions they truly want.  A lateral candidate herself, Sara knows that the decision to change jobs is a big one and can be difficult.  Her goal is to help each candidate thru the lateral process seamlessly and with limited stress.

Sara has secured interviews and job offers for candidates at firms throughout Texas.  Her success stems from her genuine desire to help attorneys find the right "fit."  To do this, Sara spends time getting to know the firms she works with, meeting the hiring partners, the recruiters, and speaking with their attorneys to dig into a firm's culture.  Sara spends just as much time getting to know her candidates in order to help make the right match.

Sara also enjoys regularly speaks at law schools and law firms throughout Texas on the legal market, law firm recruiting, successful associate strategies, and partnership.

A native Texan, Sara grew up in Dallas.  She holds a B.A. with Honors in English from the University of Texas at Austin and a J.D., cum laude, from the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University.  During law school, Sara clerked for Federal District Judge Joe Fish in the Northern District of Texas.  Sara has worked at several law firms in the Dallas area, including Haynes and Boone, LLP, Sayles Werbner, P.C. and Cooper & Scully, P.C.  Prior to law school, Sara worked at the White House and the Office of Management and Budget in Washington, D.C.
 
Before co-founding Lone Star Legal Search, Sara worked for a leading international recruiting firm as a Director in their Texas office.

Mardy Sackley brings a unique skill set to legal recruiting based on a strong foundation as a litigation partner at an AmLaw 100 firm, where she tried cases and lead teams of lawyers in handling complex multi-million dollar commercial litigation matters.   She also was actively involved in making hiring decisions for the firm and has interviewed hundreds of prospective partners, associates, and summer associates in that capacity.
 
Mardy has successfully leveraged her legal experience to distinguish herself as a leading legal recruiter in the Texas market.  Mardy brings the same energy, passion and professionalism to her role as a legal recruiter as she did to the practice of law.  Mardy serves candidates in their job search and believes in a personalized approach to search. Mardy seeks to understand the strengths and goals of each and every candidate, so that she can create a search plan tailored to each candidate’s particular needs and so that she can be an advocate for the candidate.
 
Mardy stays current with legal trends in Texas and throughout the United States andis an active speaker at law schools and legal groups on issues involving trends in the legal industry.  Mardy has a deep understanding of the Texas legal market, as well as the culture and strengths of individual Texas law firms that distinguishes her from her peers.
 
Because of her deep knowledge base and understanding of the Texas legal market, Mardy has cultivated strong relationships with law firms and corporations   throughout Texas and is a trusted advisor to a range of clients, including the largest law firms and corporations in United States, as well as boutique firms and start up companies.
 
Mardy graduated from University of Iowa School of Law, cum laude, where she was an editor of the Iowa Law Review.  Prior to Lone Star Legal, Mardy worked for a National Recruiting firm as Managing Director for the Texas market, and distinguished herself as a top performer.
